Progress OKC has several focus areas including public park renovations to Lightning Creek Park and Washington Park. Progress OKC has focused its work in northeast Oklahoma City, an area that has experienced decades of disinvestment.
“There were decades of no city-wide investments in our parks,” Doug Kupper (Oklahoma City's parks director) said. “A strong neighborhood means a strong city. We want to help be part of that by making this parks initiative happen throughout our city.”
One million dollars was earmarked for improvements at Washington Park, and $300,000 went to renovate the soccer fields at Lightning Creek Park.
